what will remove a film from a non-vented gas fireplace on a mirror?

My non-vented gas fireplace acted up and put a grayish-white film on a mirror that was hung directly above the fire place. It looks like you are looking through a fog when you look at the mirror. I have tried almost everything in the house and garage to no avail. I know there is something out there that will cut that film. thanks for all your help in advance.

For us wwwmontigocom recommends clean the glass using soft cloth and an approved nonabrasive cleaner such as kel kem or white off.
